2013
President of STC-WVC
I had gone to a meeting of the Willamette Valley chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. I haven't attended meetings in a few years. However, they asked me to become their new chapter president. I held the position for a short time but then resigned. This was because the past president wouldn't let go and still wanted to control things in the chapter.
2014
Northwest Publishers and Authors
I attended the Northwest Publishers and Authors group every month. I really enjoyed the meetings and soon became vice-president.

Sunriver house
Eleanor and I bought a vacation home in Sunriver, Oregon. The house is a real beauty in a good location. It is also only a short distance from Adam's and Tammi's vacation home, so the girls can walk over to visit.
Hip replacement operation
Finally had a hip replacement operation. Due to some complications, the recovery time was longer than expected, such that I had to use the walker for six weeks. But the operation turned out fine. I'm pleased with the results.
